United Mountain Horse, Inc was formed to provide a united format for promotions and exhibition of horses registered as Mountain Horses. Rocky Mountain Horses, Kentucky Mountain Horses, Mountain Pleasure Horses, Spotted Mountain Horses and Kentucky Natural Gaited Horses. The Mountain Horse breeds are pure pleasure horses. They are the horses enjoyed by families. Founders noted that the breed has gained popularity outside the mountain horse origin state of Kentucky and into the equestrian world. Producing web sites, a spectacular horse show format, trail rides, gaited horse clinics, and a growing amount of Mountain Horse breeders. The United Mountain Horse Magazine, the American Gaited Mountain Horse Association, a Mountain Horse heritage registy, and a new state of the art equestrian facility are avenues taken in order to share with the world this spectacular breed known as the "Mountain Horse".
The temperament, intelligence, attractiveness, versatility and smooth gait have identified the mountain horse as one of the fastest-growing types of horses in the country.
